Tasty BBQ in Westcliffe, Colorado
The Silver West Feedstore reopened in May of 2023 as a BBQ restaurant and continues to host a variety of events throughout the summer, such as live music, open mic, trivia, bingo, and paint and sip classes.
The menu includes smoked meats such as brisket, ribs, pulled pork, chicken & sausage. The smoked cream cheese appetizer (which is a local favorite) will be on the menu. If you’re unsure what to order, we suggest the BBQ Mac and Cheese, a house specialty.
Family meals are the way to go, and we suggest ordering to-go! To-go orders can be placed by calling the restaurant at 719-783-4040.
There are approximately 80 events between May and September on the Feedstore’s Patio. The patio received a facelift after receiving funds from a local grant last year. It now has a covered tent, new picnic tables, and an upgraded sound system coming soon.

The Building’s History
The restaurant sits in an old Feedstore built in the late 1800s.
It doesn’t get more rustic than the ambiance Silver West puts off. The walls are covered in old barn wood, the ceilings have beautiful metal tile, and the bar looks like something out of an old Western movie!
There’s even a beautiful hand-painted mural on the main wall of the dining room. We have local artwork hanging on the walls throughout the dining room and bar. Silver West is located 11 miles North of Westcliffe in Texas Creek.
It was originally a flour mill, and for many years it acted as the hub for the ranching and farming community. Due to the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad tracks being built in 1898, the owner (Cecil Beddoes) had to relocate the Feedstore to its current location.
Then in the early 1900s, it was made into a Hardware store. There are also multiple, long-lasting rumors of the Feedstore being haunted by a little girl named Annie and a middle-aged man who likes to hang out in the bar.
One of the best parts about the Feedstore is the property it sits on. It’s a two-acre park with hundreds of mature trees, landscaped pathways, birdhouses, a unique greenhouse, a volleyball court, and last but not least, a one-of-a-kind rock amphitheater.
Guests who come to eat dinner are more than welcome to take their food to-go and sit in the park or perhaps just take a nice walk around the property!
There are steps on the sides of the amphitheater, and if guests climb to the top, it’s a nice pretty view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. A group of investors known as REI Keyholders (mainly military veterans) raised the money together to purchase the Silver West Feedstore and the land it sits on.
The Westcliffe Outpost
The entire two-acre property the Feedstore proudly sits on is now called The Westcliffe Outpost.
For information on renting the one-of-a-kind rock amphitheater and park, the newly built cabin, the private dining room, or perhaps any of the Airbnbs above the Feedstore, please email the following address: operations@keyholderrentals.
